Warner Brothers and HBO Max also posted a joint behind the scenes reel of the season 2 set, with the text “pov: you’re back in the pitt for season 2”, the camera showcasing the entrance, then front desk, before showcasing a clip of Wyle entering the ER in the same outfit with the same bag as the exclusive image released. The camera showed the words “we are back” were then typed into the medical center’s computer staff login as a fun teaser, before showing various drawers and racks of supplies. The camera then showed the same clip of Wyle again, this time from a different angle this time showing Kirby following suit behind him. Finally, the camera showed a slate labelled with the show’s title with the words season 2 next to it, as well as “Roll 1, Scene 8, take 1”. The reel was captioned “We’re so back… Season 2 of ‘The Pitt’ has begun filming Stream Season 1 now on Max.’” Warner Bros and Max didn’t need to add the last bit however, because at this point everyone’s cousin’s neighbor’s dog walker has binged the hit series. More than once. Twice. Even thrice.

Alongside Noah Wyle as Dr. Robby, also slated to be back is Katherine LaNasa who played charge nurse Dana Evans, Gerran Howell as Dennis Whittaker, who was nicknamed “Huckleberry” by none other than Trinity Santos played by Isa Briones. What’s the shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center looking like this time?

According to Deadline, the setting for season 2 of “The Pitt” will this time take place on the Fourth of July. So season 2 will be mathematically 10 months after the last chaotic hour of season 1. In the last season, the day of significance was the anniversary of Dr. Robby’s colleague’s death, Dr. Montgomery Adamson. It’s revealed his colleague died from COVID-19 complications, and the show included not just flashbacks of his critical condition, but of the ER during the pandemic around five or four years earlier. Noah Wyle recently shared in a podcast interview with Dr. Mike Varshavski that the show first and foremost was a “love letter” to healthcare workers and first responders.

"We came into this to be the most medically accurate show ever made,” Wyle shared on the podcast. “That was the strategy?” Varshavski asked. “Yes… What we were doing was trying to make a love letter to front line workers and first responders to say ‘we see and hear what you’ve been going through the last several years and we’re gonna build a show around a really great doctor who’s having the worst day of his life because of it. And everything suit will follow from there.” Dr. Varshavski isn’t the first to praise the show for its medical accuracy, as many healthcare workers have expressed that out of various soaps and medical dramas over the years, “The Pitt” is unarguably the most realistic. Critics have also praised the show, In fact, “The Pitt” earned a Gotham Award for Best Breakthrough Drama Series, and is also predicted to sweep the Emmys this year!

Viewers can look forward to season 2’s release in January of 2026!
